My role

As the SENDIASS manager, my role is to:

• Ensure appropriate processes and systems are in place and effective, so that support is delivered to children, young people and parents, based on their needs, with a positive impact.
• Safeguard and improve outcomes for children, young people and families across Wokingham.
• Coordinate and develop the SENDIAS Service in accordance with minimum standards set out in the Children and Families Act 2014 and the revised SEN Code of Practice 2015.
• Ensure the service meets its requirements outlined in its service level agreement.
• Support and act as a critical friend to the Local Authority in its strategic development of SEND services, whilst championing co-production with SEND children, young people and parents/carers.
• Encourage effective partnership working, both at a strategic and individual levels.
• Design and assist in delivering training sessions to parents, carers, council staff and partners.
